How to DIY a Cute and Easy Cat Nail Design
For all the feline lovers out there, this cat nail design is for you! Just follow along with my easy tutorial to recreate these cute, gold nails with me.
Tools and materials:
- Base coat
- Shimmery gold polish
- Toothpick
- Scissors
- Black nail polish
- Scrap paper
- Paper towel
- Pink nail polish
- Top coat
1. Paint a base coat
For long lasting results, start with a base coat on your nails.
2. Apply 2 coats of shimmery gold polish
Once the base coat has dried, apply 2 thin coats of shimmery gold polish on the nails. You can really use any base color that you like.
3. Prep a toothpick
Cut one pointed end off of a toothpick to create a flat end.
4. Add cat ears, eyes and whiskers to your thumb and ring fingers
Apply some black nail polish onto a scrap paper.
Insert the blunt end of the toothpick in the black polish and draw peaks onto the nails for cat ears.
Dip the toothpick in the black again and make 2 dots under the ears for eyes.
With the pointed end of the toothpick, paint on whiskers.
5. Make a pink nose
Wipe off the flatter end of the toothpick to remove any residual, black polish.
Then dip the toothpick in pink and make a small triangle for the nose.
6. Make polka dots
Clean off any residual pink for the flat end of the toothpick. Then dip it in black and make polka dots on the rest of your nails.
7. Apply a top coat
Once the nails are dry, apply a clear top coat. Make sure to cap off the nail to help seal in the end.
Let your top coat dry and enjoy the final results of your cat nail art:
