Want gorgeous no-heat curls without the pain and care you have to take when you use heat? There’s a way to get beautiful heatless curls overnight without the stress.
In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to curl your hair with pantyhose and a robe tie so you can wake up and look amazing within mere minutes!
Tools and materials:
- Hair ties
- Pantyhose
- Robe belt
- Brush or comb
- Spray bottle
- Clips
How to curl your hair with pantyhose
1. Dampen hair
The first step is to spritz your hair with some water. Wetting our hair is going to make it more malleable and susceptible to changing shape overnight and reduces frizz while working with it.
2. Detangle your hair
Use a comb or a brush to remove all tangles and knots from your hair. This is going to help you get smoother-looking curls.
3. Section
Section your hair into two equal sections.
4. Place the pantyhose
Place the pantyhose on your head like this, making sure each leg drapes on either side of your head with the top part of the pantyhose draped behind your head.
5. Wrap your hair around the pantyhose
Take a smaller section from the front of your hair and begin to wrap it around the pantyhose just once. Since you’ll be moving the pantyhose around, I advise you to use a clip to hold it in place so it doesn’t slide.
Then, take a second section of hair and wrap it around the pantyhose just after the first section, but in the opposite direction. You should now have two sections of hair on both sides of the pantyhose.
Alternate taking hair from both sides and joining them into the already created sections as you braid down the pantyhose until there’s no more hair left. Tie off with a hair tie.
Repeat on the other side.
6. Twist into a bun
Twist each braid into a small bun and secure it with a hair tie.
7. Sleep
Now, you sleep!
8. Take it down
When you wake up, very gently unbraid the hair from around the pantyhose. You’ll immediately see the results of your no-heat curls.
9. Shake
Give your hair a toss and a shake and you’re ready to start your day!
Here are the results of your heatless curls with pantyhose! Super gorgeous, so easy to do, and absolutely no heat required!
The cool thing about this method is that you can use anything that’s long enough; so if you don’t feel like stretching out your single pair of pantyhose, steal the belt from your robe.
How to do heatless robe curls
The steps are virtually similar, but there are some key differences. Here’s how you can achieve this heatless curls look:
1. Prepare your hair
Spritz and brush just like in the previous method.
2. Twist the hair and belt
Place your belt on your hair just like you did with the pantyhose. This time, though, we’re only going to be working with one section of hair at a time.
Take a section from the front of your hair and wrap it around the belt. Grab some more hair and add it to that section and wrap the new combined section around the belt.
Repeat this all the way down, continuing to add hair and wrapping until you run out. Super easy! Do this to both sides.
3. Tie off the belt
Wrap the two belt twists around the back of your head and then bring the tail ends of the belt back to the front. Tie off at the crown of your head. I did a bow!
Here’s the back.
4. Sleep
Honestly, this look is so cute, you could probably do it in the morning and wear it out during the day! But since this is a “no heat curls overnight” tutorial, let’s go to sleep.
5. Take it down
When you wake, take it down and give them a shake. Gorgeous curls with very little work.
I like to brush through mine for a looser curl but style however you like.
Here’s the finished look!
