I love to repurpose old vintage crockery into one of a kind jewellery . It saves it going into landfill or cluttering up your cupboards not seen or loved.

Old jug

I begin by using wheeled tile nippers to cut up the china jug and make some shapes that could be earrings. Remember to protect eyes with goggles.

The pieces need a smoothing of edges with a Sanding tool. The grinding stone whirs around and does this job easily. Use a Face mask to stop dust inhalation is best.

Ready to sand

I use a rotary mini sander with carbide stone which really smooths edges easily.

Next is time to drill holes in for the jump rings. I use a diamond tipped drill and dip into water to keep cool. Eye goggles essential.

Drilling

Next is time to put fixings on and sterling silver ear hooks. I use round nosed pliers to help to grip the rings and slip into the hole easily.

Round nosed pliers

I use strong jump rings and feed them into the holes. Add ear hooks which finish off the pairs of purple florals. What a transformation old milk jug turned one of a kind earrings!
