Cute and Easy Pink Powder Nails Tutorial
If you’re pressed for time and need to do your nails, these nails with pink powder are for you.
I’ll show you how to use quick dip nail powder in under eight minutes. Let’s get started.
Tools and materials:
- Builder gel base
- Top coat
- Cuticle pusher
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Shimmer dip powder
- Nail brush
1. Clean and prep your nails
Before applying any polish, push back your cuticles, prime, and clean the surface of the nail bed.
2. Apply a base coat
Apply a thin layer of builder gel for your base coat and cure. I didn’t bother with a peel base since I’m only doing one layer of the actual dip.
You can use a clean brush to clean up any places where you overapplied.
3. Pour the powder on your nails
Pour the powder over your nail, tap it off, and then pour it over again once or twice to ensure the gel thoroughly soaks it up.
Pouring the powder is going to give you the most consistent application for solids and shimmers.
If you’re using glitters, foils, or flakes you should lay your nail flat in a dip cup or cupcake liner.
Also, keep your layers as thin as possible so you can fully cure them in the lamp with the powders on.
Shimmers are great for a quick mani because they hide any mistakes in the cuticle area. Cure for 60 seconds.
4. Clean up the nail
Use that brush again with some isopropyl alcohol to clean up the edges.
You can also use a stiff nail brush to clean the excess powder.
5. Apply another layer of gel base
Apply another layer of the gel base over the powdered nails. Clean up the extra product with alcohol again and fully cure.
Always clean off any uncured gel on your skin to prevent gel allergies.
Typically, after this, I’d wipe off the tacky layer and then file into shape but since we’re doing a quick manicure, we’re skipping those steps.
6. Apply a top coat
Apply a top coat over your nails and fully cure.
I like to cap my edges when applying the top coat with the base gel because this will seal the manicure in and make it last longer.
