DIY Custom Pearl Wedding Heels
I made DIY custom pear wedding heels that check all the boxes. Follow along and make a pair for yourself!
Tools and materials:
- White heeled sandals
- Clear glue
- Plastic syringe
- Different sizes of flat-backed craft pearls
- Bead pickup tool
- Mod Podge
- Foam brush
- Lace
- White silk ribbon
- Glue gun with glue
- Scissors
- Clear fishing line
1. Add pearls to the wide strap
Put clear glue into a plastic syringe and draw a line of glue at the top of the wide sandal strap.
Place the same size of flat-backed pearls on the glue before it dries.
Repeat on the lower edge of the wide strap.
Then fill in using the scatter method with various sizes of these pearls between the outlines of pearls.
2. Apply white lace to the heels
Use a foam brush to apply a thin layer of Mod Podge onto the outer heel fabric.
Wrap a strip of lace around the heel and seal it in place with 2 additional layers of Mod Podge.
3. Add pearl details to the ankle straps
Add dots of clear glue along the ankle straps and attach pearls to the glue, alternating between big and small pearls.
4. Add white bows
Cut 2 equal pieces of white, silk ribbon and tie each into even bows.
Make dovetail cuts at the ends of the ribbons so they won’t fray (plus it looks pretty!).
With the extra ribbon, cut a small square for each bow. Fold the square in thirds, gluing it to make a small, rectangular strip.
Wrap each strip around the knot of each bow and glue it closed to hide those knots.
Then use glue and clear fishing line to securely attach the bows to the backs of the ankle straps at the top.
Use laundry pins to hold the bows in place until the glue dries.
