In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how you can upgrade a standard ponytail by twisting your hair at the front.

If you’re looking for how to take your ponytail up a notch, this is for you. Keep on reading to find out what to do.

Tools and materials:

  • Hair elastics
  • Clips
  • Beads
Separating front section

1. Separate front section

Tie your hair into a ponytail, keeping a section of hair down at the front. Then, divide that section into two.

2. Twist hair

Take a small section of hair on one side, clipping up the rest of your hair. Twist that section and then tie it with an elastic.

3. Continue

Do this to two more sections on the same side of your hair.

Braiding hair

4. Braid hair

When it comes to the last bit of hair, instead of twisting it, braid your hair all the way down.

Add some beads at the bottom and then an elastic to tie it up.

5. Repeat

Repeat all of the steps on the other side of your hair. Make sure that the two sides look symmetrical to one another.

Here is the finished twisted hair look. I love the gorgeous little twists at the front of my hair, which all come together in a ponytail at the back.

The two braids on either side are lovely little details, and the beads I added at the bottom match the color of my top.

I hope you love this look as much as I do!
