A New Take on the Space Buns Look
In this tutorial, I’m going to show you a new take on space buns. We’re going to be combining space buns and bubble braids into one awesome look.
Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Hair ties
- Hair elastics
- Claw clips
- Bobby pins
1. Split hair into sections
Start by dividing your hair down the center. Tie up the hair on one side so it’s out of the way.
On the other side, clip up the top half and leave the bottom half down.
2. Tie bubble braids
Clip up the bottom section as well, leaving just a little bit of hair down. Tie that hair with an elastic.
Then let down a little more hair, combine it with the hair at the bottom, and tie it with an elastic a few centimeters above the first one.
3. Continue
Continue this process, gradually letting more hair down and tying the hair with elastics.
Be sure to keep an even distance between each elastic. In total, I tied five bubble braids.
4. Pull on hair
Gently pull on each of the bubble braids to make them more voluminous.
5. Tie top section
Let down your top section of hair, tie it with a hair tie, and separate it into two sections.
6. Twist sections
Twist those two sections of hair around each other.
7. Make bun
Snake the braid around itself to make a high bun. Secure the ends in place with a bobby pin.
Then repeat the process on the other side of your hair, and you’re done!

Adorbs on the look, but in our area of FL I have never seen bubble braids, I have worked with special needs kids to young adults and kids in general. So next time explain bubble braids please. I am going to Pinterest or google it thanks totally cute!
