Tools and materials:

  • Blue silk
  • Ribbon
  • 1-inch plastic headband
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Sewing machine
  • Needle and thread
Covering the headband with ribbon

1. Use ribbon to cover the headband

Apply hot glue to the headband and attach one end of the ribbon. Once secure, add more hot glue and wrap the ribbon around the headband.

Without adding any more hot glue, wrap the ribbon around the headband until you reach the end.

Hot gluing the ribbon to the headband

Once you reach the end of the headband, add hot glue to the remaining surface to secure and finish wrapping.

2. Sewing three fabric tubes

You’ll need three strips of blue silk. Each should be approximately 3 inches x 18 inches. Start by folding your strip in half length-wise, then sew a straight line across the open edge.

Hand-sewing the silk strips

After you’ve finished sewing them closed, turn them right side out and hand sew them together on one end.
