12 Fabulous Work, Weekend and Evening Outfit Ideas
Follow along to learn a few outfit formulas for work, weekend and evening.
These work and weekend outfit ideas show you how to use style to stretch the possibilities of your existing wardrobe.
I’m collaborating with one of my favorite French brands, Sezane.
Since slow fashion is important to me, I’ll be pairing their quality items with regulars from my outfit line-up.
1. Trousers and a fitted top
For work
For this classic look, I’ve chosen a striped top with a ribbed texture.
I’m wearing pumps, but you could go with a pointed flat, loafer or an Oxford if those options are truer to your taste.
I love this bangle from Sezane. It’s thick but comes across as thin.
Weekend outfit idea
Switch the blazer for a casual, denim jacket if you’re going to a brunch or matinee.
Go for a jacket that has either a slouchy, boxy, relaxed silhouette or something with a rough texture.
Then I would swap out the pumps for classy but casual, metallic Oxfords.
Evening
For a fancier occasion, try an off-the shoulder neckline that’s sensual and shows a bit more skin, in a modest way.
We aren’t changing the silhouette here, just the ratio of skin to coverage. Repeat this with open-toe footwear:
2. Jeans and a blouse
For work
These denim pants from Sezane walk the fine line between trousers and jeans.
In a pinch, you can add a blazer, and even though you’re wearing denim, this look works.
Pair this with a pointed toe pump that works well with the wide leg of the denim.
I love this Sezane blouse for work because it has a beautiful detail that’s not over the top, so it won’t compete if you have to wear a blazer.
The feminine touch is a nice contrast if you’re wearing a structured trouser or suit.
Here’s another jeans and a blouse option for work:
There’s a nice monochrome play with the dark blouse against the navy trousers. The cardigan with the frill poking out is fun.
Look what a minor change can do.
Wear the cardigan backward and tuck it in for this alternative option:
I’ve buttoned up the collar, besides the last button, for this feminine detail:

To dress down the blouse, pair it with a light wash denim, which comes across as more casual.
Fold a messy cuff at the bottom to make it feel easy and chill for a casual weekend. You can try it with flats:
Or go with sneakers! Add a cloth tote for the ultimate, chill bag.
Evening
If you don’t have time to do a total outfit overhaul, pairing the right accessories is a safe bet.
I’ve swapped in a sparkly clutch and pumps.
Don’t be afraid of outfit repeating and making subtle tweaks!
3. Skirt and knit
For work
You can make your cardigan versatile by wearing it backward to look like a sweater.
It gives us a fuzzy, soft texture that offsets the sleek, shininess of this old, slip-skirt.
Weekend outfit idea
I’m wearing the cardigan in the forward direction and I’ve buttoned it in the middle.
Add an elastic and twist the back of the cardigan to cinch the back and tuck it into the skirt, unseen.
To make this outfit suitable for more active outings, wear sneakers.
Add sunglasses and a stylish bag to carry your weekend activity essentials.
Evening outfit idea
For this evening transformation, I made a wrap style top with my cardigan.
I also used the wrap belt of the skirt to keep everything in place at the waist.
Disclaimer: I would definitely wear a nude, strapless bra with this light, knit top and secure it with tape.
4. Mixed colors
Spring is the perfect time to embrace a bit of color in your wardrobe.
For work
I’m wearing these cropped white jeans that work perfectly for those dress down days at work, or if you’re in a creative office, this is a great everyday option.
I’m wearing a blue, striped shirt under a beautiful green cardigan. The deep V showcases the structure of the button down top.
Add polish and texture with a belt:
The coolest detail are these vintage, pastel pumps:

Sneak in some color blocking with baby blue flats paired with the green cardigan.
Tip: Have fun with silk scarves! I’ve got 2 scarves that can take this look into 2 different directions.
This neckerchief style looks cute, nonchalantly leaning into the weekend vibe.
The 2nd scarf is bigger and has an interesting pop of red.
Make a lengthwise tube and tie it around your neck. It looks great with the V neckline.
Evening outfit idea
I’ve taken the same cardigan, thrown it on backward and layered it over a vintage, baby blue maxi dress.
Create some definition with a belted waistline. With flats, this evening outfit idea still feels chill.
