In this resin earrings DIY, I’m going to show you how to make some gorgeous epoxy resin earrings, surrounded by a gold bezel frame.

If you love flowers and you also like a bit of metal in your jewelry, these earrings combine both. Grab your materials and let’s begin!

Please remember to wear gloves and other relevant safety equipment when using resin!

Tools and materials:

  • Goggles
  • Gloves
  • Apron
  • Epoxy resin
  • Flowers
  • Tweezers
  • Round nose pliers
  • Long nose pliers
  • Cutter tools
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Resin mold
  • Metal bezel frames
  • Epoxy resin
  • Jump rings
  • Fish hook
Mixing epoxy

1. Mix the epoxy

Mix your one-to-one ratio of epoxy. You want to do this before you put the flowers in so that if there are any little bubbles, they can go to the surface.

2. Place flowers in molds

Pick up flowers with your pliers and place them in the molds. You can keep the design simple with just one flower or add multiple flowers.

Be careful that your tweezers don’t break the petals or scratch the mold.

Adding flowers

Be warned that if you use a flower with lots of petals, bubbles can hide amongst them.

Spraying flowers

3. Spray flowers

Next, spray the flowers with 91% rubbing alcohol to eliminate the bubbles as much as possible.

Bear in mind that when you spray the flowers, the spray bottle will release some air which can move the flowers around slightly, which is a bit frustrating.

Adding resin

4. Pour over resin

Now pour the resin on top of the flowers and then spray the resin with rubbing alcohol.

If your flowers move out of position, you can use your tweezers or a toothpick to gently get them back in place while also removing any bubbles.

Leaving to set

5. Leave to set

Wait 24 hours before you unmold your resin pendants.

Adding jump rings

6. Place jump rings through pendants

Then take your pliers and open up your jump rings pretty far to make sure you can get it in the pendant.

Place the jump rings through the pendants.

Adding bezel frame

7. Add bezel frame

Then close it up just enough, so there's a gap so you can slip it into the bezel frame that you want to surround your resin with.

Doing this is a lot easier than trying to close that big gap over both the resin and the frame.

Adding hook

8. Add other jump rings and hook

Add on two smaller jump rings, followed by the earring hook.
